I am looking for a few of the best books to read that give me everything I need to know because I am 18 years old and am a male, but want to say healthy. I read Vegan for Life and thought it was excellent, but want to find a couple more books, videos or even internet sources.

Hey, check these out for their focus on health aspects of veganism.

Books:
Generation V: The Complete Guide to Going, Being, and Staying Vegan as a Teenager
The Teen's Vegetarian Cookbook
The China Study*
The Engine 2 Diet*
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition*
Living Vegan For Dummies

Videos:
Forks Over Knives
Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead

* Of course, there's tons of stuff out there, but I've had an opportunity to listen to some of these authors / physicians in person and they were very motivating and instrumental in guiding me towards a healthier lifestyle, hence my recommendations.

P.S. I kinda like this book for its overall take on veg*nism too (makes the point without being too heavy-handed, it's actually fun to read!): Perfectly Contended Meat-Eater's Guide to Vegetarianism.

what are some books explaining why being vegan is good for health?

Q. it's for a college essay know of any books i can buy at barnes n noble??

please let me know!

Answer
Ignore daisy's lies. Unfortunately for her she provided a reference and it actually DOESN'T say what she claims. Daisy misleadingly uses quotation marks because she isn't afraid of lying to support her attacks on veganism, or perhaps she is just too dumb to know the difference between what is actually said and what is her interpretation of what has been said and not aware that you can't use quotation marks unless you quote what was ACTUALLY said. In any case, she is trying to use her fabricated quote to argue that being vegan is NOT good for your health (ie bad for your health) when that is not what the individual said... rather Ginny Messina is arguing that health reasons on their own are not compelling enough for people to go vegan, and the ethical reasons must also be considered.

A book you could read is "diet for a new america" by john robbins (Daisy will like this one because he is not a doctor). However if you are doing something for an essay you should be able to get books from your college library. If not, you should have access to scientific articles through your library. Here are some references to get you started. Ask your library assistant to show you how to access full documents through your library's online accounts, otherwise you need to pay to access most articles you will come across as they only provide access to an abstract for free.
