I'm flying internationally on Wednesday with my 3 kids who are 7, 2, and 9 months old. My husband isn't coming with me, so I have to deal with them alone. I am dreading it. I'm not worried about the 7 year old and I think the 9 month old will be okay as long as I have a few toys for her and bottles and cuddle with her. The 2 year old however does not like to be restrained. It is a 10 hour flight. Don't tell me to try Benadryl because my doctor already suggested trying it out on him, and it did NOT work. I will gladly welcome any other suggestions for ways to make him sleepy or be entertained because I am just not going to be able to walk around the plane with him for 10 hours like he would love to do. Last time we flew with him internationally, it was awful, and that time I had my husband's help, but not this time. We had a bag of "tricks" for him, little toys he'd never seen before, but he didn't want any of them and he threw them. We even gave him cookies, and he threw those too. After the 10 hour flight, we have a 3 hour layover and then we have a 1 1/2 hour flight. PLEASE help me. I am desperate for advice. Thank you in advance.

Answer
Try children's dramamine and coloring books or that color wonder "paint" that you just use with water. 10 hours is hard on anybody let alone a toddler so he will be fussy no matter what you do. Just be patient with him.

What types of toys does a 9 month old play with?

i want to go shopping for a 9 month old baby girl.. what would be some good gifts to buy?

Answer
i nanny for a 3 year old and a 9 month baby girl and note she plays more with the every day things, wooden spoons, does alot of singing, plays with her spoon at lunchtime etc.
some good toys for her now and when she develops more would be things like musical instruments - little bells are always a good choice! some shape sorters or stacking cups are good too, things like pop up toys are fun now that they are old enough to show some real emotion and repeat things constantly! books with touchy feely bits or material books can be good or anything they can chew as they are teething!
something little always interests her, things like playing with the odd bit of this and that so there isnt much she needs at this age but think about nice musical or toys which 'do' things rather than a cuddly stuffed rabbit!
you can always ask a help advisor too.
my tip is to look at the age range stated, ask an advisor or here is a list of top 5 in my opinion with a little research:

1. shape sorter - shape sorter wooden bus is nice, if you live in UK?
2.musical instruments or a singing book - v tech do a nice one
3.stacking toys/cups/blocks
4.tea set - possibly the most used toy right up to when they are older
5.wooden blocks or the 'walker' to push them in
have fun!!!
