I checked the websites for the pulbishers but found nothing.

Im 14, in Ireland and writing a book series, I know Im young but I think I've found something Im good at, so am I too young or what?

Do I just send the manuscript in? With my details or is it more complicated?

Answer
Hi there! First of all good luck with the book-i sent my book in to publishers in Ireland when I was 13. It didn't go very far and i would've loved a bit of advice back then!

I'd suggest that you find a literary agent first as opposed to sending it in to a publishers straight - it will have a better chance of being picked up and read this way. Usually the agent wants a page long synopsis of the book and maybe the first few chapters. Its a good idea to ring up the agent first and ask what they like.

Google "irish literary agents" and you'll find a whole list of them and the different books they specialise in. I'd also suggest that you (or your parents) invest in a book called Writers Yearbook 2011. It has lists of all publishers, agents etc in Ireland and the UK and has great tips on how to get noticed in publishing. You can get it at all the bookshops like Easons and Waterstones.

Hope this helps you somewhat - just keep on writing and dont worry about your age - the story is whats important!! Good luck!! :)

PLEASE HELP! Do you have to read the first book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood to read the others?

So it didn't say anywhere on the books whether one was the first or not.. & I ended up getting the third because it sounded most interesting. Do you have to read the first & so on to read any others?

Answer
No, you can read the first four books out of order, so you'll be fine. After that, however, you do want to stick to the order of the series as things may get confusing due to secondary story lines that span the whole series. Here is the correct order, so that you know what to read next: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/w/j-r-ward/

The books tend to be addictive btw. The next title comes out on March 29, 2011. Already appears in Amazon.com.

Happy reading.
