What are good business topics to know before starting an MBA program?

I am starting an online MBA program in January 2012 and I want to be prepared. My undergraduate degree is in History, so I don't have much in the way of formal business courses. I would like some suggestions for topics or books to read. I am starting with an introductory book on economics...what are some other topics that would be helpful.

Forget the economics.
If you want to get a head start, look at an introductory accounting text, an introductory marketing text, and an introductory finance text.
But.....there's really no need to do any of that. Once you begin your online courses, you'll study accounting, marketing, finance and other business-related topics.
If I were you, I'd simply read the business section of the local newspaper or follow news stories on Bloomberg news, for example. Look at the news yesterday that Google is paying $12 billion for Motorola. Try to figure out why that's important. Look at the effect of business decisions (through media coverage of developments). That will help you more than simply going through textbooks. It will help you to understand the role of business in society, as well as the effects of business decisions on society.
Don't study business in a vacuum.
